Dear Sen4Cap,

We are able to generate L3A products and wonder if there’s any way to config/allow us to generate file as JP2 instead of GeoTIFF to minimize the storage?

I think this was answered in another thread, but it’s not currently possible. There’s no limitation preventing it, it’s just not implemented yet. But I tested with some random files and got:

  • LAI: GeoTIFF 11 825 844 bytes, JP2 11 784 503 bytes
  • NDVI: GeoTIFF 11 175 862 bytes, JP2 11 579 135 bytes

Meaning there seems to be no advantage of JP2 over GeoTIFF.
